OfficeSource, Ltd. is Hiring a Junior Designer Space Planner/Commercial Furniture Specifier Near San Antonio, TX

Summary

OfficeSource, Ltd. is a woman-owned, fast growing, commercial furniture dealership that offers customized interior furnishings to companies and organizations of all sizes in San Antonio, Texas.

This position will work closely with all sales representatives to develop floor plans, typicals and mock-ups specific to client needs, followed by specifying product related to client drawings. Working closely to make their day to day work process easier and smoother. This includes the facilitation of a smooth and accurate work flow process as well as other sales support activities.

Primary Responsibilities

Design Responsibilities:

  • Maintain skills on all software needed to assist with design and specifying
  • Determining the scope of the project, programming, create typicals, product specification, space planning, verifying field measurements, taking inventory of existing product and acknowledgement review. Review of data and electrical needs with sales and service manager
  • Assist with other team members to verify each other's project and furniture specifications (technical specs, finishes and counts)
  • Maintain up to date product knowledge on all major manufacturers
  • Keep Sales current on any critical information discovered during day to day design
  • Review completeness, approve & submit sales account paperwork to the Manager of Order Fulfillment
  • Field questions on product and process from sales, and coordinate interaction with Service and Operation departments when necessary to gain more detailed answers
  • Assist with Bids, Request for Proposals/Information (RFP/I) and Mock-Ups
  • Mock-Ups must be tracked and checked throughout the manufacturing process. Once the Mock -Up has been received, the designer must work closely with installation to ensure that the Mock-Up is ready for presentation
  • Maintain current knowledge regarding interior building and ADA code requirements
  • Tracks time and expenses by project to accurately identify areas for improvement
  • Provide liaison for Sales with Operations and Service and Installation Departments
  • When needed, will coordinate outsourcing of projects with outside rendering companies. Prior to using a rendering company, management authorization is required.
  • Create and provide installation plans (including existing layouts for reconfigurations) for installation teams.
  • Prepare finish boards as required and submittals.
  • All other duties as assigned

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Manage quality and consistency of product and service delivery
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet change needs and requirements
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of project and scope
  • Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client
  • Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards
  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • 1 Years of AutoCAD, CAP Studio, 20/20 Worksheet, Sketchup
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 Years of Experience in Design
  • Ability to communicate technical/product information to both a technical and non-technical audience
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient with Administrative Software
  • Ability to time manage efficiently
  • Strong sense of customer service
  • Good organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to create and modify marketing materials for clients

Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in contract office furniture industry
  • Bachelor Degree Preferred

Working Conditions

OfficeSource, Ltd.'s working conditions are of a normal office environment. Work requires a small amount of local travel and may require occasional overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work. Some on job site projects may require a hard hat, safety vest, glasses and closed toe shoes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
