Extended Care Job Description
Extended Care Worker I (K-8)
-Hours are 1:00-5:00 on school days (Fridays 1:00-5:00)
-Early dismissal days are 12:00 - 5:00 (Unless noted otherwise)
-Gather students who will be attending Extended Day from each classroom; escort them
to the lunch table area.
-Provide care and protection for assigned children
-Actively supervise all children
-Help to ensure that the dignity and basic rights of each child are respected
-Assist Lead Caregiver in whatever capacity is needed
-May assist students who need help with homework
-5:45 Start cleaning up for the end of the day
-Perform classroom-related maintenance duties
-Make sure all supplies are clean and returned to their appropriate storage location
-Wipe down all tables
-After students are out of the room, put chairs on top of the tables
-Help ensure that students take all belongings with them
-The room should be left clean and orderly at the end of each day
-Help co-workers in the Extended Care Program complete end-of-day tasks.
-Assist in keeping your personnel file complete and up to date in the school office
-Perform any other job-related tasks deemed necessary
