Summary
The Hand Soldering Technician is primarily responsible for hand soldering of electronic components to meet defined standards. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail and the proven ability to work with small components. This position is first shift, Monday though Friday, with overtime opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform hand soldering of electronic components including though-hole, surface mount and wire harness terminations consistent with IPC or equivalent standards.
  • Inspect and test soldered components to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot and rework any soldering defects.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Perform repetitive assembly, terminating, molding, testing and packaging operations to produce connectors and cable assemblies that meet specification of schematics, blueprints, or process instructions.
  • Test and inspect product to ensure specifications are met.
  • Attend and participate in all required trainings and departmental meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hand soldering
- Prior certification to IPC-A-620, IPC-A-620, J-STD-001, IPC 7711/7721 a plus
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Familiarity with soldering equipment and tools
- Attention to detail and ability to work with small components
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to use basic judgment in quality analysis and communicate any discrepancies to appropriate leadership
- Ability to adhere to all company policies and safety regulations including attendance requirements
- Ability to work with limited supervision to assemble units of moderate complexity in a team environment
