Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctorate
  • Experience: (2) years required
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Doctoral degree in Audiology (Au.D.) from an accredited institution.

    • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an audiologist.

    • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.

    • Strong clinical skills in audiologic assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

    • Compassion and empathy for individuals with hearing and balance disorders.

    • Proficiency in using audiometric equipment and computerized diagnostic systems.

Job Description:

General Summary:

As an audiologist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with hearing and balance disorders. You will work with individuals of all ages, from infants to the elderly, to evaluate their auditory function and provide appropriate interventions to improve their quality of life. Your role will involve conducting a variety of tests, such as audiograms and balance assessments, interpreting results, and recommending treatment options, including hearing aids, assistive listening devices, and therapeutic interventions

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients' auditory and vestibular systems.
  • Administer diagnostic tests, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions testing.
  • Interpret test results and make appropriate diagnoses.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, patient preferences, and evidence-based practice.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and their families about hearing loss, communication strategies, and management options.
  • Dispense and fit hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.
  • Make adjustments to hearing aids and provide follow-up care to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as otolaryngologists, speech-language pathologists, and educators, to coordinate patient care.
  • Stay current with advances in audiology research, technology, and clinical practice through continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with regulatory standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Participate in community outreach programs and educational initiatives to promote hearing health and prevention of hearing loss.
