Ohio Department of Natural Resources is Hiring an Equipment Operator 4- 20050024 Near Hillsboro, OH

ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.
We are accepting applications for an Equipment Operator 4 within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, headquartered at Paint Creek State Park Construction, assigned to Highland county. What you will do…
  • Will operate a variety of heavy construction equipment to complete construction and maintenance projects within ODNR.
  • Performs routine maintenance & repairs on equipment & buildings/ground maintenance
  • Maintains & completes accurate & concise maintenance records, project logs & reports
  • Position requires a Class A CDL, no restrictions
  • Overnight travel required at least 50% of your work week within the state of Ohio

Formal education in arithmetic to include fractions, decimals & percentages & to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operation of heavy construction equipment (e.g., 10 ton crawler, large cranes, 10 ton backhoe, 18 ton dozer, over 44,000 pound gradall, truck mounted excavator) & related safety practices; valid commercial driver's license; in addition, for positions in Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry Wildfire Program only, must successfully complete Basic Firefighter Introduction to Fire Behavior Course (S-130/S-190).
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
