Ohio Department of Natural Resources is Hiring a Natural Resources Technician 2 -20052106 Near Waverly, OH

What You'll Do:The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) is committed to its mission “To ensure a balance between wise use and protection of our natural resources for the benefit of all.” Our agency embraces the insightful use of our natural resources to assure the continued safety, happiness and prosperity of Ohio’s people.
ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.
We are accepting applications for an opening for the Natural Resources Technician 2 within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, headquartered at Pike Lake State Park, assigned to Pike County. What You'll Do:
    • Work with customers and staff diligently to provide satisfaction to customers and parks' needs
    • Ability to manage self and subordinates on a daily basis with little oversight
    • Ability to flex and adapt plans and schedules based on changing weather, equipment malfunctions, and park visitor needs as necessary
    • Maintain campground facilities, cabins, ground &/or equipment
    • Maintain a variety of park facilities
    • Work in different field operations; carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, masonry, roadway operations, mechanic, operate machinery, and chainsaws
    • Assist with dam maintenance
    • Starting hourly pay of $19.00/hr. with multiple pay increases over your first 4.5 years of service, with an end salary of $20.92/hr.

6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in semi-skilled maintenance functions (i.e., minor electrical repair, rough plumbing repairs, carpentry & masonry); 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in equipment safety practices; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in use of shop, hand & power tools; 6 mos. trg or 6 mos. exp. in operation of mowers & trucks; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in equipment & vehicle maintenance; valid driver’s license; valid commercial driver’s license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by Sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio Revised Code.
