Under the direction of the Chief Pharmacy Officer, the Senior Director for Oncology Pharmacy Services leads and manages the pharmacy practice model and integrated pharmacy operations for The Comprehensive Cancer Center, Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. This position oversees and directs clinical and business operations and pharmacy practice for the James inpatient cancer hospital, seven outpatient infusion centers, all James outpatient clinics, research, and enterprise investigational drug services and infusion prior authorization services. This position is responsible for financial stewardship, the financial performance, and revenue integrity for the current operating revenue budget . In alignment with the pharmacy enterprise, responsibilities include development and implementation of oncology strategic plans and policy, oversight and management of operational, financial and business activities, and responsibility for pharmacy practice. This position represents the pharmacy enterprise at professional organizations and national committees related to cancer care. The pharmacy enterprise employs over 700 FTEs, dispenses nearly 14M doses annually, and generates $2B in revenue based on $950M drug budget. The pharmacy enterprise is linked to all health sciences collages, most importantly the College of Pharmacy. The pharmacy enterprise contributes to the academic and research mission of the university by training more than 30 residents annually, publishing over 40 peer-reviewed papers, and staffing over 12,000 pharmacy student hours of experiential education. The leader works collaboratively with administrators, directors, managers, nursing, and medical staff across the cancer program to ensure the delivery of high-quality personalized health care in a patient friendly, research focused environment.
