OHU Job Board is Hiring a Part Time Licensing Specialist Near Worth, FL

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with all CBC providers,
  • Facilitates pre-service for foster parents and staff,
  • Coordinates staff re-certification process and certify all staff,
  • Maintains and tracks agency training records to ensure that agency meets re-licensing standards as a child placing agency,
  • Enter family information into licensing database,
  • Ensure all screening requirements are completed in a timely manner,
  • Conduct initial and subsequent home studies and secure signatures as required within the specified time frames,
  • Complete licensing files that meet licensing standards,
  • Completes FSFN Documentation,
  • Completes special projects as assigned within designated time frames,
  • Attends agency meetings as requested,
  • Ability to travel to all sites is essential,
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Social Work, Criminology, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Special Education, Education, Human Development, Child Development, Family Development, or Marriage & Family Therapy from an accredited college or university

 Experience

  • Three to Five years of related child welfare experience. Experience in Licensing required
  • State of Florida, Child Welfare Certification required.

Other

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance.

  1. Ability to assess, interpret, and deliver care-related information concerning the life-span development of children and families
  2. Excellent written and oral communication, with ability to document in a clear, concise manner
  3. Highly organized, yet flexible and can handle multiple projects and or priorities well with the ability to manage tight deadlines
  4. Intermediate data entry skills
  5. Positive attitude concerning all aspects of working in a challenging environment (including significant patience and respect for children and families who can become quite angry and demanding), sensitivity to cultural needs, and ability to serve as a positive member of a working team
  6. Resourcefulness in researching issues, analyzing information skillfully, solving problems, and developing solutions with minimal supervision in a timely manner
  7. Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and adaptive skills to expand software application skills as necessary
  8. Ability to exercise discretion and ensure confidentiality
  9. Ability to coach and develop team members

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role in a professional office environment; however, some active office tasks are required. This would require the ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. This position requires the ability to move file boxes, office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. The position requires visual and auditory acuity within professionally determined normal ranges, with correction if need; and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and office equipment, including, but not limited to, the telephone, computer, and copier. Occasional local and regional travel is required for this position.
