In the UK, RWE is one of the largest power producers and a leading renewable generator supplying around 15% of UK electricity, from onshore wind, offshore wind, hydro, biomass and gas.
We are recruiting for an Asset Management Partner for our Hydro and Storage Division. This appointment can be based at our various UK locations (Dolgarrog, Staythorpe, Kings Lynn, Didcot, Great Yarmouth, Little Barford, Pembroke, Inverness or Perth).
Main Purpose of the Role The Asset Management Partner UK role oversees our hydro power plant fleet in the UK, ensuring optimal performance, risk management, and continuous improvement. This position aligns the O&M leadership team, E&O, and Controlling with Asset Management and company objectives to drive efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Head of O&M Cluster Hydro UK, conducting regular performance meetings with O&M, E&O, and Controlling teams.
  • Create and drive the implementation of the cluster-specific Asset Management Plan, serving as the entrepreneurial conscience for the UK Hydro business.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement optimisation projects to meet business objectives, enhance operational excellence, and pursue development opportunities for the fleet.
  • Oversee the MTP process for the cluster, ensuring timely and thoroughly documented plans that meet overall objectives.
  • Manage the risk and opportunities process within the cluster, maintaining an overview that adheres to standards and best practices.
  • Engage with Asset Management Partners and the wider team to share best practices, ensure compliance with standards, and manage relationships with landowners and third-party stakeholders.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong technical background with a degree in engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience in the utility/energy market, preferably in hydro.
  • Proven commercial skills, including excellent commercial acumen, negotiation experience, and working with legal professionals.
  • Solid experience in financially evaluating and planning complex technical projects.
  • Strong presentation skills for senior management and cross-country collaboration, with an interest in developing and evaluating strategic objectives.
  • High individual responsibility and assertiveness, with the ability to handle time pressure and enjoy international and cross-technology exchange.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to UK hydro sites and occasionally to Germany; German language skills are welcome but not essential.
