Establish Health and Safety project budgets/proposals and ensure related projects are completed on time and within budget
Prepare reports including observations, analysis and recommendations for control and correction of hazards
Provide support and advise of all regulatory changes to corporate and facility personnel to ensure compliance with applicable Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations
Record and maintain required documents
Lead incident investigation process and document findings, support the development and implementation of an action plan
Review safety incident near miss reports, administer workers compensation claims, and define/maintain a proper return to work policy for employees out for an extended time
Designs, plans, coordinates and facilitates programs that will allow the company to deliver a consistent safety message, build a greater safety awareness, and encourage safe work behaviors throughout the organization
Drives training and education program to instruct facility personnel in matters pertaining to occupation health and safety prevention of accidents
Guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR(Human Resources) policies for the benefit of both ABB and the employee
Qualifications For The Role
Education: Associate degree with minimum 10 years of managerial experience in manufacturing and/or Health Safety and Environment OR a bachelor's degree with minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing and/or Health Safety and Environment OR a master's degree with minimum 6 years of experience in manufacturing and/or Health Safety and Environment. Degree Preferences: Health Safety and Environment, Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Business, or related field
Strong knowledge in OSHA and ADEQ regulations
Understanding of workers compensation and return to work programs
Ability to read and interpret documents such as legal briefs, technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Six sigma green belt or higher certification preferred
Experience with SAP and Microsoft project preferred
Must be able to handle multiple tasks, changing priorities and perform well under pressure
Influential, collaborative, self-directed with strong planning and organizational skills
Exceptional analytical, communication and leadership skills
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
