Oil and Gas Job Search Ltd is Hiring a Control Systems Engineer Near Lynn, MA

Job Description SummaryThe controls engineer is responsible for the design, test, project management and maintenance of engine control logic, application software, modeling and hardware interfaces in support of engineering and test activities to assure GE Aviation's TFTJ engines such as the F414 used on the USN Superhornet or rotorcraft engines such as the T700 used on the Army's Blackhawk and Apache aircraft perform in a safe, efficient, and robust manner. The role includes controls software design, system simulations and real time modeling along with interfacing to customers for requirements and engine/aircraft testing in both the lab and field environments
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
RequiredExecute, with guidance from senior engineering team members, the analysis, design, test, and integration activities required to deliver engine controls solutions for GE Aviation products. Activities include:
  • Evaluate the functional requirements to achieve the operational requirements of the aircraft engine for fixed wing TurboFan-TurboJet (TFTJ) or rotorcraft Turboshaft-Turboprop (TSTP) applications.
  • Define key characteristics of the electronics, fuel, hydraulic systems, sensors, actuators and control logic design required to achieve the control system functional requirements for power management, I/O signal processing, fault detection, accommodation, rotor governor response, thrust response and operations across the flight envelope, including ground and air starting.
  • Use design tools such as Beacon, NPSS, Matlab and Simulink to construct controls system solution.
  • Verify system operation in desktop simulations, hardware-in-the-loop tests (dry rigs and wet rigs), ground engine tests, and flight tests.
  • Work with aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky, Leonardo aircraft, in defining and negotiating requirements.
  • Work with commercial and military customers such as the US Navy & Army as well as FADEC suppliers such as BAE and Collins Aerospace.
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
  • Participate in process standardization and GE Lean Simplification efforts.
  • Augment controls software development learnings by participating in cross controls development programs in the electrical and/or fuel controls spaces
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
  • Must be a US Citizen and must be able to obtain and hold a Clearance.
