About The JobKent is looking for a Junior Project Controller to be based in Houston, TX
As a Jr. Project Controls Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects within Kent. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates with a degree in engineering, economics, or business who are eager to apply their academic knowledge and develop their professional skills in a fast-paced and challenging environment .
Skills And Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and cost estimates.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing potential issues and risks.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on project data to support decision-making and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and meeting minutes.
  • Utilize project management software and tools to track and manage project activities.
  • Support the implementation of project controls best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support project planning and control efforts.
  • Assist in the preparation of project presentations and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain data visualizations and dashboards using PowerBI to support project reporting and analysis.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: Qualification/ Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in project management, engineering, or a related field
Skills Requirement:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Proficiency in PowerBI for data analysis and visualization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Communication:
  • Ability to communicate effectively across location, region and corporate to accomplish objectives
