Oil and Gas Job Search Ltd is Hiring an Operations & Planning - Asset Compliance Fall Intern Near Austin, TX

Remuneration: Non-Exempt
The Asset Compliance Fall Intern will play a vital role in supporting the Operations and Planning (O&P) Development, Asset Compliance team at RWE Clean Energy. The team's primary focus is onboarding new wind, solar, and battery energy storage sites (sites) for standards and requirements under North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and regional entities. These standards and requirements help set RWE Clean Energy up for success as a reliable generator and operator of renewable energy assets on the bulk electric system. O&P Development, Asset Compliance works closely with development, engineering, transmission, and site operations to collect documentation and support activities and programs to meet compliance.
The Asset Compliance Intern will assist the overall team with various projects and tasks to achieve the team's objectives. By the end of the program, the intern will have an introductory knowledge into NERC O&P Standards, stakeholder engagement, the collection of data and information as evidence, and developing and maintaining a strong compliance program.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a representative of the team on meetings and engagements with other departments
  • Take careful notation of key points and details that can inform the team on compliance efforts
  • Provide resources and information about specific standards and requirements to support other departments
  • Collect documentation and organize as evidence of meeting compliance
  • Understand the various project milestones as a new site moves from development to construction then to commercial operation
  • Maintain awareness of relevant industry issues, best practices and lessons learned
  • Assist in special projects, including thought leadership, training, and engagement initiatives
  • Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Enrolled in an accredited US university, pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Energy, Earth/Environmental Science or similar program
  • Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking, organizational, and research skills
  • Keen listening skills to capture important information accurately
  • Ability to structure and organize notes for clarity and easy reference
  • Ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and SharePoint
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
