Hybrid (3 days in office)
ResponsibilitiesDesign and Development: You will lead the design of electrical systems, including offshore electrical distribution power systems, power from shore solutions, and brownfield modifications. Your expertise will contribute to front-end engineering design (FEED) and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects.
Standards and Compliance: Familiarity with relevant UK standards (such as BS 7671) is essential. You'll ensure that all designs adhere to these industry-specific guidelines.
Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs) and Load Lists: Develop SLDs and load lists to define electrical distribution and load requirements.
High Voltage (HV) Equipment Sizing: Determine appropriate sizing for HV equipment based on project specifications.
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems: Contribute to the design and implementation of UPS systems for critical applications.
Philosophies, Specifications, and Datasheets: Collaborate with the team to create philosophies, detailed specifications, and datasheets for electrical components.
Team Support: Work closely with the lead engineer and other team members to achieve project goals.
QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as IET, CEng, or Chartered Engineer status are advantageous.
SkillsProficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar)
Knowledge of power system analysis and protection coordination
Strong analytical skills for fault analysis and troubleshooting
Experience with HV and LV electrical systems
ExperiencePrevious work on energy transition projects
Design verification and validation
Documentation creation (specifications, datasheets, reports)
Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
