Oilgear is Hiring an Account Manager Near Houston, TX

Position Summary: Responsible for leading, managing and achieving the organizational benefits associated with account management of Oilgear’s oil and gas product line.Responsible for direct and inside sales to drilling contractors, OEMs, and third-party sellers in the offshore, upstream oil and gas drilling marketplace.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Makes direct sales and handles inside sales duties to support Oilgear Houston location to customers primarily located in the Houston, TX area.
  • Sells new valves, parts, and repair valve services of Olmsted Products to technical and commercial teams of OEMs and drilling contractors.
  • Sells Oilgear’s POD repair and subsea valve product line, SPM valves, subsea regulators, intensifiers, and manifolds to drilling contractors and contractors.
  • Prepares and gives presentations to customers.
  • Handles customer disputes as required.
  • Enters and maintains sales opportunities in Monday.com CRM data base.
  • Local travel around Houston area is expected on a regular basis, typically 2 days per week to build customer relationships.
  • Travel outside of Texas may be up to 10%.
  • Prepares POD and BOP stack equipment repair quotations for customers.
  • Works with Oilgear Houston Director of Operations to prepare cost estimates and parts list for quotes.
  • This position is an office based job.
  • Supports the Global Director, Oil and Gas to execute the oil and gas sales strategy.
  • Gathers market intelligence from customers, competitors, industry news, etc.
  • Schedules meetings for the Global Director with customers on a quarterly basis.
  • Builds interpersonal relationships with customers.

Preferred Qualifications or Requirements:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Business or Technical discipline or a minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in the oil and gas industry or hydraulic mechanics.

Strong writing and speaking skills are a must.

An extensive account management background in the oil and gas industry is preferred.

Travel around Houston will be continuous on a weekly basis.

Travel outside of Texas: Up to 10% possible

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and margin percentage and gross margin. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills, and Other Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office.

Must have a strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and a strong understanding of manufacturing operations. Requires a willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals. Must have a proven ability to implement both strategic programs and supporting tactics. Superior written and verbal communication skills a must. Strong account management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities within tight timelines and high customer expectations required. Must have the ability to quickly grasp complex technical and business concepts and express them in clear language. Must be flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed time frames.

May be required to visit shop floors, which may or may not have air conditioning.
