Position Qualifications: | Required Qualifications: Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program with two years related experience and a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license; OR bachelor’s degree in animal science or related field with two years of experience. Preferred Qualifications: Veterinary Technician Specialist recognized by NAVTA, and five years of supervisory experience. Registered Veterinary Technician (in the State of Oklahoma) and Veterinary Technician Specialist. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as organization skills. Must be self-motivated and capable of accomplishing tasks with minimal oversight or supervision. Must be capable of interacting successfully with administration, veterinary students, staff and veterinary professionals. Confidentiality required. Experience with restraint of small and large animals, administering injections, and placement of IV (peripheral, central and urinary) catheters is essential. Must have knowledge of equipment used within VTH including, but not limited to personal computer, telephone, copy machine, laser, video endoscope, diagnostic lab equipment, camera/video camera, electrodiagnostic equipment, etc. Must be physically capable of lifting animals weighing 50 pounds or greater onto exam tables and into elevated cages. |
