Oklahoma State University is Hiring an Associate Medical Director Near Oklahoma, OK

Job Functions:Assist the Paramedicine Program Director in developing the curriculum and training requirements to stay current on new medical practices and standards. Assist Faculty, Clinical and Lab Instructor’s development and teaching. Fulfill responsibilities as delegated by the program Medical Director.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Review and approve all educational content of the program and curriculum to certify its ongoing appropriateness and medical accuracy.
  • Review and approve the quality of medical instruction, supervision and evaluation of the student in all areas including Classroom, Lab and Clinical.
  • Review and approve the progress of each student through direct interaction throughout the program. Assist in the development of appropriate corrective measures when a student does not show adequate progress.
  • Keep Director, Faculty, Staff and Curriculum up-to-date on modern medical concerns, and assist in establishing medical relationships with other clinical providers.
  • Assure competence of each graduate of the program in cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains.
  • Interact and provide input to Director regarding daily operations
  • Review and approve all program applicants and graduates.
  • Participate in monthly EMS Program meetings
  • Chair EMS Program Academic Advisory Committee.
  • Completes all mandatory training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Must be a licensed MD or DO
Minimum Work Experience:
  • 3 to 5 years experience as an Emergency Resident and or Physician.
  • Experience working with EMT’s and Paramedics in an Emergency Setting.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Communication skills – Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with clear, grammatically correct English. Requires interaction with supervisors, colleagues, students, using tact, discretion, and independent judgment.
  • Computer skills – Must be demonstrably proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel), as well as e-mail and Internet.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information, give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to a multicultural environment in an effort to work and communicate effectively with all students, faculty, staff and community partners.
  • High degree of initiative to work independently and also collaborate in a team environment.
  • Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU-OKC and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior.
Required Qualifications:
  • Be a physician licensed to practice medicine within the United States and be currently authorize to practice with the geographic area serviced by program, with experience and current knowledge of emergency care of acutely ill and injured patients.
  • Must be a licensed physician in Oklahoma.
  • Have adequate training and experience in the delivery of out-of-hospital emergency care including the proper care and transport of patients, medical direction and quality of improvement in out-of-hospital care.
  • Be an active member of the local medical community and participate in professional activities related to out-of-hospital care.
  • Be knowledgeable about education of the Emergency Medical Services Professional, including professional, legislative and regulatory issues regarding the education of Emergency Medical Services Professions.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include some nights and weekends.
  • Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms.
Physical Requirements:
  • Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking and listening.
  • Duties require extensive use of computers, telephone and other office equipment.
  • Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs. (If an object weights more than 45 lbs., OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift).
