About The PositionOld Mission's Options Desk is seeking a Trading Support Engineer to sit at the nexus point for all production trading activities. Be a part of a small, agile team, directly embedded with Options Trading System Engineers and Options Traders. This person will be responsible for owning the deployment, maintenance and support of our TEST, BETA, PROD systems. This person will have the potential to grow the role based on their expertise, and our business demands. There is potential leadership opportunity as we grow our production team globally.
Responsibilities

• Own the active production environment
• Implement & deploy configuration changes
• Monitor
• Health
• System reliability
• Incidents
• Production system performance analysis
• React to production issues as they occur
• Deep dive into issues:
• with trading software
• with connectivity to the exchanges
• with our infrastructure
• Work directly with traders, developers, network/Linux/datacenter engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Track incidents through to resolution
• Drive continuous improvement of the production environment
• Work with internal teams to improve procedures, software, infrastructure
• Proactively drive improvements in long-term reliability
• Work with internal teams to explore, coordinate, and expand into new products/exchanges/strategies and using new types of hardware/infrastructure

Required Skills

• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other STEM background
• Rigorous attention to detail
• Experience supporting Production Systems
• Experience programming in Python
• Experience working on Linux
• A passion for solving challenging problems
• Experience with SCM; we use git
