Olin Corporation is Hiring an Industrial Hygiene Specialist Near Freeport, TX

Title: Industrial Hygiene Specialist
Location: Freeport, TX
Salary: $96,000 - $125,000
Schedule: 5-8’s or 9/80 Website: olin.com Focus: The Industrial Hygiene Specialist is responsible for managing the Industrial Hygiene monitoring programs and the Freeport IH lab. This position will act as a liaison between the facility and outside regulatory agencies.
Industrial Hygiene Specialist Essential Job Functions:
  • Manage and administer industrial hygiene policies, procedures, processes, and monitoring programs
  • Conduct compliance audits, reporting, and program assessments; develop action plans to close identified gaps; implement compliance systems
  • Interpret monitoring data to establish proper controls and PPE guidance for work areas and activities; investigate overexposure incidents and deviations from approved industrial hygiene practices and assist in the implementation of corrective actions
  • Manage the Asbestos program – set up guidance for block area Asbestos inventories and inspections and oversee Asbestos sampling, removal activities, and work with radiation/Asbestos clerk to ensure Asbestos notices and payments are completed and documentation is properly managed
  • Oversee Freeport IH lab – determine equipment needs and ensure equipment is in good repair, charged, calibrated for monitoring and that proper sampling media supplies are available; properly manage equipment and calibration documentation
Industrial Hygiene Specialist Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree* in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Public Health or a closely-related science or engineering field
  • 5 years of experience in organic chemical industry, oil refining, industrial manufacturing, and/or heavy construction
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) certification, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or other recognized accredited safety certification preferred
  • Experience in or ability to learn computer programs and software (Cority, Fit-testing, 3E SDS database, noise dosimeter, eMOC, AMT, and Shift Connector, etc.)
  • General health and safety program management with strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA and other industry related safety regulations required
  • Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
