POSITION SUMMARY
As an Assistant to the Registrar, play a key role in ensuring that the office provides high-quality services to students, staff, and community members. This position uses and maintains systems, including spreadsheets and databases, to support student academic programs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with these systems to effectively track student progress and ensure accurate completion of academic requirements. Additionally, the candidate will work closely with students to provide support and guidance throughout their academic journey. Attention to detail and workflow implementation are essential characteristics of this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the daily operations of the Registrar’s Office, including but not limited to registration of students and maintenance of student records;
Update individual undergraduate student degree evaluations for specific majors and monitor changes and program exceptions.
Update the Colleague student information system and degree audit evaluation software with updates to programs and courses, ensuring the Student Planning system is accurate;
Create and manage course sections for each term using Colleague;
Assign and manage classrooms using the Ad Astra system;
Work inter-departmentally on processes that include the Office of the Registrar;
Assist in verifying the accuracy of data for reporting needs;
Assist with editing the University Catalog;
Other duties as assigned.

Ability to interpret complex policies and procedures;
Knowledge of Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act Regulations;
Demonstrate effective verbal communication skills;
Demonstrate the ability to write legibly using correct grammar and punctuation;
Comfort managing and manipulating data in spreadsheets Proficiency in computer systems and software programs such as Microsoft Office and Ellucian Colleague;
Possess a successful work history supported by references in a work setting similar to the position for which the candidate is applying;
Exhibit the ability, with training, to learn all software applications related to the assigned position to perform duties required of the position effectively;
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
12-month position, 40 hours per week. Standard office environment, no major sources of discomfort. Occasional night and/or weekend work.
