Responsible to: Director of RTF Services Job Summary: The Behavior Coordinator (ITP) will be responsible for the behavioral treatment of all youth and ongoing monitoring of crisis prevention activities. The Behavior Coordinator (ITP), in close collaboration with the Clinical Director, will be charged with achieving a significant reduction in the number/duration of physical holds with the goal of eliminating the use of restraint. The Behavior Coordinator (ITP) is responsible for team consultation, functional behavioral assessments, and functional analyses and working closely with milieu staff to give guidance on lower-level reinforcement plans. The position is responsible for oversight in the development and implementation of individual crisis management plans and function-based behavior intervention plans. Essential Job Duties:Works cooperatively with the Clinical Team, Clinical Therapist, Psychiatrist, Occupational Therapist, Transition Coordinator, Speech and Language Pathologist, Residential Manager, Program Coordinator in the collection of pertinent data to assist in the development of the individual crisis management plans and function-based behavior intervention plans.Successful completion of behavioral assessments, often as clients are admitted. Providing ongoing behavior support throughout clients lengths of stay, including going into client homes on an as-needed basis.Create and communicate behavioral reports within the program. FBAs and BIPs will be part of the treatment, this will go to parents, schools, Care Coordinators, and anyone involved in the treatment of the client, etc.Develop treatment plan objectives in collaboration with client, family, and treatment team.Provide support and guidance to Behavior Support Technicians including training them to input tracked data.Use data to inform development of treatment plan objectives and assess if more restrictive behavior plans are needed.Conduct fidelity checks on behavior data, individual crisis management plans and function-based behavior intervention plans. These checks are monthly or as needed, if data is variable, or there is an increase in problematic behavior.Takes an active role in participating in and supporting a therapeutic and safe milieu.Use of knowledge when developing plans for typical growth and development for when chronological age does not match their developmental age, and the impact of the developmental disabilities on the individual and his/her family.Attends and participates in community meetings, treatment team meetings, and any other program meetings.Conducts all interactions within current best practices in treatment, evidence-based techniques, and ethical guidelines.Maintain client confidentiality within the regulations of HIPPA/FERPA and agency guidelines.Conduct Quality assurance reviews to ensure all CMS and New York State requirements are met when a restraint is imposed including physicians’ orders, face to face evaluations of the physical and psychological well-being of the individual being restrained, notifications, de-briefings, etc.Train in best practices, develop presentations for staff days, review current ones based on behavior analysis.Any other duty as assigned by your supervisor. Skills: Computer skillsKnowledge of Microsoft ExcelBasic knowledge of alternative communication devices, such as iPad, Nova Chat, and PECS. Competencies:Communication: Oral and writtenDependability: Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligationsProblem solving: Takes a systematic approach to solving problems rather than reacting to symptomsAttention to detail: Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasksAdaptability: Job requires being open to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace Education Required:Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Human Services, Special Education, Psychology, or related field. Experience Required:1-2 years working with individuals with mental health involvement. License/Registration/Certifications Required:Valid NYS Driver’s LicenseCPRCurriculum Trainer (Risking Connections or SCIP-R) within one year of employmentBoard-Certified Behavior Analyst or Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst Preferred Training Requirements: New Hire OrientationContinuing education as per NYS Office of Profession guidelinesAll required agency trainings (including Applied Behavior Analysis, SCIP-R)All trainings required by programs in which you service individuals Physical Requirements: The overall nature of the position is sedentary requiring little physical effort with occasional light physical exertion required. There is little, if any, exposure to environmental conditions.The constant physical demand of the position is sitting.The frequent physical demands of the position are standing, walking, climbing, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination.The occasional physical demands of the position are lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.
