Ortho-Cast Tech – Olympia Orthopaedic Associates

Location: Olympia, WA

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.71 - $33.43 per hour

(Pay is determined based on years of experience, long term employees can earn up to $39.65 per hour)

Summary of benefits:

OOA covers part or all of the cost for Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-term Disability Insurance. Employees are eligible to participate in a 401k plan with company matching. Flex spending plans, uniform allowances, and an Employee Assistance Program available as well. New, full-time staff will accrue a minimum of 17 days of paid time off per year.

Ortho-Cast Tech Summary:

At Olympia Orthopaedic Associates, an Ortho-Cast Tech is a Medical Assistant who aids in patient care by performing the application and removal of casts, splints, and braces. You will help ensure proper healing of patient injuries through education of proper casting care and instruction on using crutches, walkers, and other aides. Along with administrative tasks, you could also be responsible for removal of sutures and staples, re-bandaging of wounds, and/or application of steri-strips.


Ortho-Cast Tech Requirements:

  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant, or the ability to become a Registered Medical Assistant within 90 days of hire.
  • Active BLS certification or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
  • Prior Experience with casting and DME
  • Completion of a formal casting course – Preferred but not required
