Maintenance Technician who can coordinate, execute activities and projects affecting the maintenance, alteration, and repair of company equipment and buildings. Have knowledge and experience of general mechanic, welding, and some electrical. Employees must work around production of fresh and frozen seafood and shellfish, some of which contain known allergens. This position will be responsible for complying with the facility's food safety system requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

General building maintenance and equipment maintenance.

Execute work priorities which may include but are not limited to repairs, maintenance, installation of machines, tools, and equipment; this responsibility is to ensure continuous production operations.

Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Maintenance Manager.

Assure that the work areas and equipment are in clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to use hand tools, electric tools, and other related machinery safely and effectively.

Must be familiar with the essential machine functions to oversee processes.

Ability to operate related machinery.

Have good hand-eye coordination.

Solid analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.

Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.

Good working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, maintenance machinery and familiarity with their typical components.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, supervisors, and managers.

Must have a good command of the English language both written and spoken.

Must be able to use basic math and use measuring devices.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.

2 years of experience in Maintenance in a manufacturing plant required. Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing preferred.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to the plant environment to include moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Employees must wear safety glasses and PPE at all times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
