Omada Search is Hiring a Data Governance Manager Near Cary, NC

*This position can sit remotely in EST or CST timezones - will require travel 1-2 weeks at a time to NC in the first few months as you are onboarded/trained.

The Global Master Data Governance Manager leads the development and management of master data and its related processes. This role will be responsible for improving the quality and protecting sensitive data and information assets. This position will be the global process owner for master data management processes. It will lead the strategic and operational definition, design, implementation, and continuous innovation of the end-to-end master data processes. This includes providing leadership and driving alignment across the organization to drive global process harmonization and deployment while ensuring regional needs are met where required.

The Global Master Data Manager serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality, and protection issues. He will work closely with regions, functions, and IT to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements, and support the enterprise's strategic requirements.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Data Governance: Establish data governance strategies, frameworks, and policies to define how master data should be captured, stored, maintained, and used. This ensures that data is consistent, accessible, and secure across the organization.
  • Data Quality Management: Implement measures to assess and improve the quality of master data. This involves identifying and resolving data inconsistencies, errors, and duplications.
  • Data Integration: Collaborate with various departments to integrate master data from different sources, systems, and databases, ensuring a single source of truth.
  • Data Standardization: Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and data models to maintain uniformity and consistency of master data, such as customers, products, suppliers, and locations.
  • Data Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire master data lifecycle, from creation and updates to archival and disposal.
  • Data Security and Compliance: Ensure that master data is protected from unauthorized access and adhering to data privacy regulations and industry compliance standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business users, IT teams, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements and address their data-related concerns.
  • Master Data Governance Tools: Utilize specialized MDM software to manage, track, and monitor master data and quality initiatives.
  • Data Training and Awareness: Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness about the importance of data management and data quality among employees.
  • Data Strategy and Planning: Contribute to developing the organization’s data strategy and roadmap, aligning data management initiatives with business objectives.

Requierments:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline. MS, MBA, or graduate degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of data management experience, focusing on master data management. Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing MDM programs.
  • Strong understanding of business processes of an engineering and manufacturing business, data modeling, data quality, and data governance principles concepts and best practices to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP modules relevant to Master Data Mgmt.
  • Knowledge of integrating ERP systems with other applications and data sources.
  • Knowledge of MSSQL programming, data warehouse management, PowerBI, and QLIK for Business Intelligence reporting is a plus.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, including defining data structures, relationships, and attributes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues related to master data.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and external consultants.
  • Ability to adapt to project requirements and handle evolving data management challenges.
