Omaha Public Power District is Hiring a Design Engineer II (Electrical Engineering) Near Omaha, NE
- Provide professional engineering design services for OPPD electrical generating facilities to assure safe, economical and reliable operation.
- Provide project management services to assure economic, quality and timely completion of multiple assigned projects.
- Provide construction management services to assure quality installation of new systems and/or equipment for OPPD electrical generating facilities.
- Four (4) year Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/Civil-Structural/Electrical Engineering or other Engineering degree related to power generation (ABET accredited degree) OR Professional Engineering Registration
- A minimum of four (4) years engineering work experience ¿ special projects, committee assignments or technical skills may be credited for experience duration.
- Possess discipline specific knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate complex concepts in both technical and ¿layman¿ terms
- Effective analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities
- Ability to work as part of a team, exercise flexibility and take responsibility for assigned work
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers in aprofessional and respectful manner
- Possess and maintain a valid driver¿s license
- Engineering-related experience at a power generating facility or in a related field Demonstrated capabilities of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and presenting recommendations.
- Successfully completed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT/FE Certification)
- Advanced MS Office Professional Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Project management experience
- Advanced Degree (MBA or MS ¿ qualifies for up to two (2) years experience)
Minimum: $94,112
Midpoint: $117,640
