Team OverviewThe Director, Social on the Studios team sits on multiple pods of around 20 team members. The Director reports to the Vice President and will lead 4-5 direct reports in a hybrid in-office work environment. The Disney Studios team is dedicated to releases from a variety of Disney owned production studios driving viewers to watch in theaters and/or stream on Disney , as well as Disney brand advertising. The Director will oversee strategy and activation across a variety of the largest social platforms.
THE JOBThe Director, Social is responsible for managing the strategy and execution of Disney’s paid social media plans. The Director is responsible for working with the Social team across their specialty platforms to develop a campaign strategy which supports the client goals and integrates into the broader paid media plans.
The Director is tasked to integrate social into the overall media campaign strategy, anticipate client needs and demands, and to manage all plans and projects within the team. The Director will mentor his/her team throughout the process, helping to craft career paths and contribute to the development of all employees working under their direction.
The Director is the daily contact with key Disney client stakeholders and should be comfortable with real time troubleshooting, as well as giving strategic consult and though-leadership as needed.
Responsibilities Include
  • Build strong relationships with senior-level client counterparts and manage day to day relationships including strategic oversight and overall problem solving/troubleshooting
  • Manage team of Associate Directors, Supervisors, Specialists and Coordinators in the development, implementation and maintenance of multiple and simultaneous media plans
  • Identify client goals/objectives and lead the development of strategies and tactics for current campaigns
  • Ensure integration and coordination between various internal teams by updating and informing them on the status of all account projects.
  • Helps lead and contribute to overall process efficiencies
  • Strong knowledge of the social landscape and best practices with a special focus on new technologies, inventory opportunities, and partners
  • Ensures overall accuracy with client budgets, investments and overall execution of campaigns
  • Responsible for facilitating each team member’s development
YOUWe encourage you to apply if the below describes your experience and talents:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6 years of experience in paid social, entertainment is a plus
  • A solid understanding of all major biddable platforms (Meta, X, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest)
  • Experience managing performance media campaigns with conversion-based objectives
  • Familiarity with high-impact creative units on all major social platforms
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Clear and articulate communicator with ability to direct and coach team members
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate and address client concerns to maintain positive relationships
  • Ability to be agile and adaptable within a quick turnaround business environment
  • Demonstrated proactive approach to problem solving and critical thinking
  • Excellent ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent skills in MS Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of ad serving, tagging, and media billing tools a plus
This is a hybrid role based in Burbank, CA.This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, benefits include: health insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, 401(k), Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, vacation days, sick days, personal days, paid parental leave, paid medical leave, and STD/LTD insurance benefits.
Compensation Range
$130,000—$160,000 USD
