Omm IT Solutions is Hiring a Senior MongoDB Engineer with Ansible Near Windsor, MD
Please Note:
- Selected candidate must reside within two (2) hours of the Client's Headquarters in Woodlawn, MD.
- Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site at least 2 days a week.
Position Description:
The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn new skills, embed with a team, solicit ideas, and feedback, and have good communication skills and on a day-to-day basis perform the following:
- Automate and maintain MongoDB databases and infrastructure using Community Edition on Linux.
- Experience working with AWS database services including EC2, and S3.
- Attend all customer technical discussions/design/development meetings and provide technical inputs to further enhance the code quality/process.
- Provide guidance/support to other junior/mid-level developers.
- Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards, or operational plans that position the client competitively in the marketplace.
- All other duties as assigned or directed.
Key Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of Mongo Community Edition on Linux, MongoDB architecture, and hands on experience with Ansible Automation.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field with 7 years of experience.
- Master's or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.
- 4 years of experience with MongoDB Community Edition on Linux.
- 3 years of Ansible development of increasing complexity.
- Candidate should be able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.
Required Skills:
- Designing, building, and automating the Infrastructure for MongoDB Community Edition.
- Proven experience in using Python, Ansible, and similar methods to automate infrastructure tasks.
- Proven experience with Shell Scripting.
- Knowledge of MongoDB architecture.
- Git/Bitbucket, Confluence, and JIRA experience
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies.
- Experience working on Agile projects and understanding Agile terminology.
- Previous work in DevOps Environments.
- Ansible Automation Platform experience.
- Experience on automating AWS ElastiCache provisioning, administration, and maintenance.
