We are seeking to hire a Safety Coordinator to join our Operations team!

RequirementsWe are searching for a candidate with:
  • Post-secondary education required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, EH&S, Safety from an accredited College or University, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2- 3 years’ experience in a safety or EH&S role
  • Prior direct experience in a Safety Coordinator role, or something very closely related, in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in incident determination and investigation with demonstrated ability to conduct incident root cause analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines and practices, federal and state requirements.
  • Experience in implementing OSHA training programs, 5s, and Kaizen background.
  • Strong personal protective (PPE) knowledge.
  • Intermediate experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must be a self-starter on identifying and addressing safety activities.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to influence people to the desired safety culture.
Duties And ResponsibilitiesA typical day may include:
  • Works with leadership to develop or revise safety initiatives and programs.
  • Facilitates the Safety Committee by being a mentor to safety committee leadership.
  • Implement and maintain Lock out tag out (LOTO) program.
  • Create, review and update job hazard assessments (JHA).
  • Develops, documents, and maintains compliance for all company, local, state, and federal safety requirements.
  • Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure that safe job practices are followed, and protective equipment is properly utilized. Ensure all routine safety inspections are completed on time.
  • Facilitates and investigates all safety incidents; near miss, first aides, recordable incidents. Uses cross functional team to determine incident root cause and implement robust corrective actions and share such information with other locations for their use.
  • Conducts new hire training and ensures new employees understand safety practices and policies; provides training to employees on the safe and appropriate operation of machinery and equipment; provides training to contractors and temporary employees as needed. Ensures the facility maintains the proper number of personnel trained in first aid and CPR and that required level of safety and medical supplies are maintained in inventory.
  • Maintain chemical inventory and SDS sheets.
  • Conducts and certifies all powered industrial vehicle training (forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, etc.).
  • Monitors facility hearing conservation program.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve/increase associate awareness of Safety and Health.
  • Keep records of safety-related incidents and metrics proposing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Develop and report leading indicator metrics for safety.
  • Responsible for addressing questions related to Safety programs in audits.
  • Performs all other related duties as required.
  • Helps perform continuous improvement tasks and initiatives.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to loud noises, fumes, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at work location.
