We are seeking to hire a Director, Talent Management and Employee Relations to join our Human Resources Team!

Requirements

We are searching for a candidate with:

  • Proven ability to lead and manage a geographically dispersed HR team.
  • Strong strategic thinking and vision-setting capabilities.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing HR professionals.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in talent management, including onboarding, training, and talent development.
  • Expertise in employee engagement and retention strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess HR metrics and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to work in a complex matrix environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with HR and Operations leadership, Legal, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage and resolve conflicts.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

  • Ability to lead team of Regional HR Business Partners across a multi-site manufacturing environment including union and non-union facilities in the US and Canada.
  • Cultivates an environment of growth for the Field HR teams by creating unique development plans, giving regular feedback, planning for succession, and encouraging cross-departmental work relationships.
  • Builds relationships and drives partnerships with Operations Leadership, HR Leadership, Legal, and other key stakeholders.
  • Sets strategic direction for field HR team to provide leadership for assigned Plants by balancing long and short-term initiatives and managing processes and people.
  • Responsible for strengthening the employer-employee relationship and leading constructive and effective labor relations (if applicable), leading process improvement projects and programs that align with the Operations strategies and priorities, and rapidly delivering measurable returns that maximizes ROI in the Plant(s) HR initiatives.
  • Provides guidance and support to field leaders on employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Works with Chief Operations Officer, VP Operations and Management team to effectively plan for staffing needs; leads and supports succession and training efforts to support this initiative.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends, business practices, and best-in-class processes, within areas of responsibility, to strengthen OmniMax’s competitive advantage.
  • Manages the professional growth of operations and other plant team members by ensuring effective onboarding and skill development for new hires, identifying, and implementing coaching and performance plans, proactively evaluating, and addressing individual performance, fostering consistency across projects and teams, and creating, tracking, and supporting individual career progression goals.
  • Collects and analyzes HR data to identify trends, monitor key performance indicators, and make data-driven decisions to improve HR processes and practices.
  • Ensures compliance with labor laws and company policies across all field locations, addressing any legal or ethical concerns promptly and appropriately.
  • Supports a safety culture and effectively manages workers compensation related claims for best outcomes.
  • Presents to senior management on HR metrics, initiatives, and outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, psychology or related field or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree in human resource management or related degree preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in a multi-site environment.
  • Attention to detail and experience handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Labor relations and contract negotiations experience required.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Merger & Acquisition integration experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) preferred.
