We are seeking a highly organized and detail oriented EHS and Facility Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety protocols, facility maintenance, and emergency preparedness. They will be responsible for developing and implementing safety procedures, conducting regular facility inspections, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. The Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and Facility Manager will focus on instilling and fostering a proactive EHS-conscious culture and driving operational ownership of the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) programs through all levels of the Plano organization as well as maintaining an acceptable work environment & building infrastructure for our Plano employees.

Responsibilities

Your typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Create and maintain Plano EHS policies and procedures that comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Monitor and ensure compliance with local, regional, and national EHS regulations and standards.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees and contractors. Ensure they have the knowledge and skills to work safely and comply with EHS policies, including emergency preparation drills.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine the root causes, contributing factors, and lessons learned. Report incidents to relevant authorities as required and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Own workers comp process, including submitting investigation details to relevant stakeholders, logging case with WC insurance company, tracking status, updating stakeholders, ensuring employee returns to work after doctor’s release and is retrained as needed to ensure their safety upon return to workplace.
  • Assess the EHS performance and capabilities of contractors and suppliers. Ensure they adhere to the organization's EHS standards and requirements.
  • Create and drive Plano’s sustainability vision, goals, and strategies in alignment with environmental, social, and economic priorities. Assess current practices, identify areas for improvement, and set targets for sustainability performance. Implement practices to reduce energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, waste generation, and pollution.
  • Ensure smooth operation of essential facility operations, such as security, cleaning, waste management, and utilities. Coordinate with service providers for preventative maintenance for facility and equipment.
  • Manage site specific facility related contracts and building lease(s).
  • Manage all financials related to facility management, including invoices, expense management, and cost analysis to optimize expenses.
  • Ensure our building is clean and well maintained. This includes prompt services for grounds keeping, housekeeping, electrical and plumbing services.
  • Create and maintain scope of works for all outsourced services required to maintain our building, including but not limited to HVAC, security systems, compressors, emergency generators, etc.
  • Coordinate and oversee project to ensure project completion within established time frames, includes understanding business impact and minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Develop business security requirements, plans & strategies; and oversee their implementation. Establish protocols for access control, physical security, information security, incident response, and emergency preparedness.
  • Establish performance indicators, monitor metrics, and prepare reports on performance for management and regulatory authorities. This includes analyzing data, identifying trends, and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify potential hazards, evaluate risks, and implement measures to mitigate and control them. Conduct risk assessments, develop safety protocols, and provide recommendations to improve safety performance.
  • Foster a people centric safety culture. Promote EHS awareness, encourage employee engagement, and recognize & and reward safe behaviors.
  • Continuously review and improve related management systems, processes, and practices to enhance performance. Stay up to date with industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate and maintain effective communication with internal & external stakeholders with required urgency & professionalism.
  • Available to collaborate with global teams and management including night and early morning meetings as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational, health & safety, engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in safety compliance and facility management.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in Risk Assessment Process.
  • Experience in High-Risk Operations.
  • Experience in Hazard Recognition.
  • Experience in Injury and Illness recordkeeping per OSHA requirements (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
  • Experience handling worker’s compensation claims.
  • Project Management Experience.
  • Proficiency with computer tools. Advanced computer skills, primarily with MS Office software programs, i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access and able to navigate internet and intranet tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with all levels in the organization.
  • Strong Electrical Safety experience.
  • Certification in facility management or safety is a plus.
