Job Description

OnSite Concrete Solutions is seeking an Environmental Permitting Specialist to join our team in the Concrete ReadyMix industry. The Permitting agent will play a critical role in preparing and obtaining environmental permits from regulatory agencies, as well as ensuring company compliance with local, state, and federal permitting requirements.

Job Duties:

  • Project permitting and environmental protection facilitation and coordination with relevant entities.
  • Preparation, review, and submittal of permit applications.
  • Develop and maintain project permit lists and current status of each.
  • Manage and maintain all permit-related files (digital and hardcopy).
  • Report status of project permitting as pertaining to the Project Schedule.
  • Performing site evaluations, water quality evaluations, and plan development.
  • Project hazard analysis development and reviews.
  • Project safety reviews and assessments.
  • Work with the Project Management Team and Site Superintendents for project setup, execution and close out.
  • Coordinating with clients and jurisdictional entities to develop and implement project specific permitting requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems) permitting requirements and processes, including----General Wastewater Permit Compliance; Industrial Wastewater Permit Compliance; Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan Compliance; and Stormwater (SWPPP) Permit Compliance.
  • Acting liaison between OnSite and our off-site Permitting Consultants Team.
  • Interacting with State, Local, and Federal agencies to process permits and answer questions.

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related area.
  • Experience in the Environmental Consulting industry or a related field.
  • Work experience in wastewater, stormwater, and environmental compliance projects for industrial clients.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Air, Water, Waste, Wetlands, Hazardous Material Management, and/or Emergency Response/Prevention permitting processes/applications/solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems) permitting requirements and processes, including---- General Wastewater Permit Compliance; Industrial
  • Wastewater Permit Compliance; Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan Compliance; and Stormwater (SWPPP) Permit Compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Highly motivated - with the ability to self-delegate and work independently/in a team when required.
  • This position will require occasional travel to various job sites.
  • A positive, Can-Do attitude.
