On Target Sporting Goods is Hiring a Service Manager Near Sunman, IN

Summary:

The primary responsibilities will include managing a team of service technicians, ensuring the timely and efficient completion of service and repair tasks, maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction, and implementing strategies to maximize departmental efficiency and profitability. Additionally, this role includes hiring, training, and performance management within the Service Area.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of Service Technicians.

- Assign tasks and responsibilities to technicians based on skill level and workload.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to team members.

- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.

- Oversee the scheduling and completion of service and repair tasks for off-road vehicles, including ATVs and UTVs.

- Ensure that all service work is performed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.

- Monitor workflow and prioritize tasks to meet customer deadlines and service department goals.

- Coordinate with parts department to ensure timely availability of necessary components and materials for service and repair jobs.

- Interact with customers to understand their service needs and address any concerns or questions they may have.

- Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service experiences.

- Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally.

- Develop and manage departmental budgets, including labor, parts, and overhead expenses.

- Monitor departmental performance metrics, such as revenue, profitability, and productivity, and take corrective actions as needed to achieve targets.

- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and profitability through upselling of service packages, maintenance plans, and accessories.

- Greeting customers and creating work orders.

- Focus on upselling together with the Service Advisor and Technicians.

- Answering Customer questions about service outcomes and consulting with technicians/Service Advisor when necessary.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards in the operation of the service department.

- Provide training and guidance to technicians on safe work practices and procedures.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the service department.

- Overseeing and managing the service center’s scheduling and workflow.

- Utilization of Service Manager Pro for proper job times.

- Informing customers of changes in service or when their machine is ready for pickup utilizing texts, emails and phone calls.

- Ensuring customers pickup within a timely manner and/or communicating costs for storage.

- Management of Warranty Claims for parts and vehicles through the different vendors.

- Shared responsibility for inventory of Parts and Accessories.

- Process confirmations on completed work to ensure quality.

 Maintaining an open mind with dynamic work scope.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role in an automotive service department, preferably with a focus on off-road vehicles.

- Strong technical knowledge of off-road vehicles and their systems, including engines, drivetrains, suspension, and electrical systems.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Proven ability to manage a team and drive performance and productivity.

- Solid understanding of financial management principles and budgeting.

- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service experiences.

- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Proficiency in computer software applications, such as Microsoft Office and service management systems.

- Work Schedule from 8AM-6PM Monday through Friday and 8AM to 2PM on Saturdays.
