Looking for a Construction Project Executive with an entrepreneurial spirit, running a business unit for a local General Contractor

Position: You will be responsible for preconstruction and construction activities. Preconstruction tasks include interacting with stakeholders, managing the development of preliminary budgets, value engineering, preconstruction schedules, prequalification of subcontractors, defining bid package scopes, evaluation of bids, sub-buyout, and client presentation of detailed estimates of the work. Responsibilities include leading the construction process to provide high-quality workmanship and financial success safely. The candidate would have P/L for their business unit. Our client is looking for someone who can grow into a C- Suite role when the current COO retires in two years.

Our Client was founded in 2002 and is headquartered in NOVA. It works in the DMV region and specializes in medium—to large-scale commercial building construction of ground-up Mission-Critical, Interior reposition renovations, Industrial Warehouses, Health Care, Institutional, Multi-family, and Interior reposition renovations. I have known the President since I was one of his concrete subs. I can speak firsthand to his character and leadership qualities.

Experience and skills required :

• Bachelors in Construction Science, Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent technical training and experience combinations. License PE would be a big plus.
• Have at least 15 years of progressive work experience related to preconstruction and construction execution, working for a GC or owner-builder, and successfully leading a team of professionals in the past 5 years.
• Polished, professional demeanor with the ability to communicate and present complex issues internally and externally to clients, executive management, subcontractors, and other third parties.
• Being enthusiastic, creative, and an excellent problem solver with ambition and drive for career growth.
