Church Office Executive Assistant

Job Description

Accountability: Is accountable to the Lead Pastor. Meets with the Executive Pastor for supervision. Meets with the Executive Pastor for an annual evaluation.

Job Overview: To be led by God into an Administrative position at One Heart and should always be highlighting the gospel of Jesus. To be an excellent planner, have experience working with finances, be able to handle calls to the church and setting up appointments for congregational members. To be able to work alongside our pastoral staff to keep the church running smoothly and effectively.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Will daily practice spiritual disciplines, as well as emotional and physical selfcare. Serve out of a healthy attitude every day.

  • Field calls, emails and incoming appointments and walk-ins with professionalism.
  • Ensure flyers and signage for the church is up to date on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain the church calendar and property management calendar.
  • Manage supply budget and ordering for all departments.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the office.
  • Job duties as assigned.
  • Executive Pastor Duties (60-80% of job)
  • Work directly with the Executive Pastor to aid in the furthering of the Lead Pastor’s vision of the church.
  • Work directly with the Executive pastor to support all aspects of her daily work routine.
  • Managing scheduling for Executive Pastor.
  • Draft, review and send communications on behalf of the Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor.
  • Organize and prepare for meetings, including gathering documents from appropriate people, and attending to the logistics of meetings.
  • Answer & respond to phone calls, communicate messages and information to the executive.
  • Prioritize emails and respond when necessary
  • Coordinate travel arrangements as needed.
  • Maintain various records and documents for church leadership.
  • Research, data gathering and implementation of new programs, ministries and other projects as directed by the Executive Pastor.

Qualifications:

  • To have peace with God and be sanctified wholly. (COTN Manual 502.2)
  • To have a deep love for unbelievers, believing they are perishing, and a call to proclaim salvation. (COTN Manual 502.2)
  • Must be a regular attendee of One Heart Church of the Nazarene. Regular attendance qualifies as 50% of Worship Services and 50% of extra-curriculars (i.e. Small Groups, Outreach Events etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time-Managment Skills
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Organization skills.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Basic understanding of frequently used computer software and programs.
  • Interpersonal skills.

Skillset and Background Desired:

  • Some college preferred, GED or High School Diploma required.
  • Three to five years’ prior experience in supporting a senior executive or team or pastoral staff.
  • Excellent computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), Google Suite and Discord
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
