** Family Support Specialist Mentor (Part-Time) Kenwood, IL** **Job Category****:** Case Management **Requisition Number****:** FAMIL004105 Showing 1 location **Job Details** **Description** Great opportunity for students in the field of Counseling, Social Services, Social Work, or with Child Welfare experience working up to 20 hours per week looking to be positive adult role models who assist youth to find, nurture and exercise their strengths. Hours are flexible to accommodate visiting clients during the evening and weekends. Providing mentoring/tutoring services to at-risk youth. Ability to observe and submit accurate written documentation regarding client communications and visits. Must be responsible, organized, personable, and enjoys working with children. **R****equired Qualifications** **Education**

  • Provides mentoring/tutoring services
  • Ability to observe and submit accurate written documentation regarding client communications and visits
  • Must be responsible, organized, personable, and enjoys working with children, dedicated to helping them succeed in life
  • Provide feedback to youth using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in themselves
  • Organize a tutoring environment to promote productivity and learning.
  • Develop teaching or training materials, such as handouts, study materials, or quizzes
  • Communicates youths' progress and/or struggles to the youth, parents, and the primary IPS team clinician assigned to the case in written case notes, in person, by phone, or by email
  • Has a good driving record
  • Attends and participates in twice-monthly mentoring meetings and training sessions as required by the specific job or department
  • Submits expense vouchers, renewed driver's license, and automobile insurance coverage on the due date
  • Responsible to be reliable and flexible to the programs in terms of hours worked and submit accurate timesheets; contacts Supervisor for any change in schedule or approving overtime hours worked **Required Skills**
  • Basic computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, on schedule form
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and verbally communicate in a clear manner
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups or individuals
