Job SummaryTo manage the day to day operations and oversee the administration of the Employee Relations function. This includes payroll administration, providing advice to colleagues on ‎‎performance and employee relations issues including coaching Managers; Managing conflict, grievances, resignations, terminations and employee related cases; as well as ‎‎contributing to key HR projects.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist Director of HR in all aspects of department
  • Assisting in development of policies & procedures
  • Handle employee relations issues, coaching and acting as an advisor to Managers on disciplinary matters including attendance and performance
  • Build strong relationships with all leaders to ensure effective execution of all HR processes
  • Review payroll for correctness of data; work with finance department to ensure payment in a timely manner.
  • Understanding correctly, interpreting and applying of Federal and Motana employment law
  • Involved in preparation and facilitation of training courses e.g. Corrective Coaching, HR Skills for management
  • Oversee application tracking system, full onboarding process, and new hire welcome experience
  • Lead engagement initiatives to ensure a healthy colleague lifestyle including accommodation satisfaction, activity programming, wellness, and dining
  • Oversee the end to end administration process for resignations, terminations and absconders
  • Conducting and compiling of all Colleagues Exit Interviews except Executives and report any concerns to the Director, Human Resources
  • Effectively handle all leave situations including emergencies
  • Facilitating and organizing focus groups
  • Coordinate the production of weekly/monthly/annual management information/statistics including but not limited to turnover reports, focus group data, executive bi-monthly report, exit interview data report, reporting of grievances and disciplinary issues
  • Assisting with further investigation on Security reports received, including but not limited to thefts, fights, assaults, harassment and grievance
  • Overseeing the HR Department with all ‘day to day’ processes
  • To be on the “on call” shift as rostered
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the Director, Human Resources or the General Manager
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar appointment/ capacity within luxury hospitality industry.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR Certification required
  • Must demonstrate a high level of integrity and patience, as well as strong leadership abiliites
  • Must have a positive demeanor and approach all interactions in an optimistic manner
  • Ability to effectively handle challenging colleague related situations
  • Ability to work through situations with colleagues while maintaining focus on business objectives
  • Ability to make unfavorable decisions based on policies, standards and precedents
  • A team-player who is hands-on, proactive and results-oriented with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate in English fluently
  • Proficient with HRIS and MS Office applications
Physical Requirements
  • Constant sitting, standing, walking, stooping, and bending in an office environment
  • Constant typing, looking at computer screens, speaking on a telephone, and utilizing other electronic equipment
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 25lbs
  • Occasionally required to work in outdoor environments which may present extreme weather conditions such as snow, rain, heat, wind, etc.
