One World Logistics of America Inc. is Hiring a Logistics Services Assistant Mangers Near East Liberty, OH

The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the leadership, growth, and development of the Logistics Services staff with approximately 10-15 reports. Accountable for both the development of exceptional people and demonstrating values of Quality, Integrity and Continuous Improvement. This is done by utilizing communication, organizational, creativity skills to maximize revenue potential while meeting customer service/operational requirements and organizational goals.

External/Customer Focused Functions include:

  • Ongoing review of business needs based on operational changes and customer’s business requirements
  • Representative of the organization to Customers and employees during and after business hours
  • Conduct Customer Visits / Meetings (As Needed)
  • Coordinate activities between Divisions, customer and support groups to meet plans

Internal/Operational Focused Job Functions include:

  • Departmental controls and monitoring, assists in managing departmental activities according to standards
  • Practices efficiency and innovation
  • Participate in departmental Business Plan strategies to meet corporate short- and long-term goals
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization, customer and outside agencies
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts and promotes a positive work environment
  • Responds to changes, Analyzes impact on department(s) and organization

Team Development Job Functions include:

  • Monitors/Coordinates team development activities & trainings
  • Listens to feedback for departmental improvement
  • Lead associate relations and morale within the department
  • Provide correct course of action for department, supporting company policy and business direction

Report/Compliance Job Functions include:

  • Enhance KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and metrics to monitor business to assure SQCDME targets are achieved
  • Prepares, monitors, thoroughly investigates variances and reports for the budget(s)
  • Development of weekly, monthly presentations, as required, to executive staff regarding assigned department

Minimum Requirements (education, experience, skills, licenses and/or certifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Work Experience in related field: Minimum of 3 years Transportation management related to logistics brokerage, 3PL, LTL Routing, carrier management, supply chain, air cargo, import/export (not required)
  • Demonstrate positive labor relations skills with the ability to develop effective relationships
  • Strong computer skills including but not limited to all Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Adobe, and transportation management systems
  • Excellent communication, presentation, planning, and organization skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, including dealing with difficult situations
  • Creative analytical skills - Strong knowledge of problem solving and root cause analysis for total supply chain
  • Leverage technology and know-how to create efficiencies and streamline focus on quality, service and safety
  • Exceptional negotiation skills
  • Prior experience working with Japanese companies and knowledge of “Honda Philosophy” a plus

Work Conditions:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines and has minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
