About the Position
The GIS Intern will report to the Manager, GIS as part of the Real Estate team, which is primarily tasked with growing the company's solar development pipeline. The GIS Intern will support the Development and Engineering departments by creating basemaps and shading scenes, while also assisting with other GIS needs for the Real Estate team. Successful candidates will have a good understanding of GIS and Esri Products, strong problem-solving skills, and an ability to multitask across projects.
Responsibilities
- Create Basemaps using ArcGIS Pro script tools, including troubleshooting if time allows.
- Create shading scenes using lidar and ArcGIS Pro, including troubleshooting if time allows.
- Procure and transform project data (from shp to kmz, shp to CAD, etc.) to the needed format across departments. This includes parcel boundaries, environmental data, DEMs, etc.
- Collaborate with the GIS Manager to address various GIS needs for the Real Estate team.
- Collaborate with the GIS Manager to align projects with professional development goals and interests.
