Description

Oneida Health is currently seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to work in its Sleep Lab on the Hospital campus. In this position you will assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders and report to the Director of Respiratory Therapy. The ideal candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of a team while providing the highest levels of patient safety and experience.

Hourly range: $25 - $45/hour

What You’ll be Great At:

• Maintaining, inspecting, cleaning, and testing respiratory equipment as needed.
• Being familiar with technical aspects of the equipment used by the department and being able to apply these to different situations in the clinical setting.
• Educating patients and their families about their respiratory conditions and teaching appropriate disease management techniques.
• Reading prescriptions, measuring arterial blood gasses, and reviewing patient information to assess patient condition.
• Assuring respiratory care items are available and in stock, including transport oxygen tanks.
• Keeping accurate and complete records.
• Serving as a resource person for Certified Therapists and other ancillary staff.

Qualifications

Your Essential Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Associate in Respiratory Therapy (Required)
  • Registered or Registry eligible with The National Board for Respiratory Care (Required)
• License:
  • New York RRT (Preferred)
• Experience:
  • Respiratory Therapy: 1 year (Preferred)
