POSITION TITLE: Food Services Coordinator
OneSource ARTS is a regional substance abuse treatment company that has provided comprehensive, community-based mental health and substance abuse services for over 20 years. Our team is committed to improving the lives of every individual that walks through our doors.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under direction of the Program Director, the Food Services Coordinator plans, prepares, cooks, and serves meals to clients in a cafeteria setting. Maintains safety standards throughout all food preparation and storage areas. Monitors and maintains the inventory of food and supplies. Order food and supplies in sufficient quantities for weekly meals. Conducts daily clean-up of kitchen, services and dining areas. Maintains appropriate records regarding meals served, inventory, and menu schedule.
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
Any combination of education, training, and experience, which demonstrates the knowledge and skill to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including successful experience as a cook preparing food in an institutional setting. Preferred Food and Safety Certification.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
At least one year experience in Food Services industry providing meals in large quantities for residential facility food programs. Experience in production or commercial cooking.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals and program plans.
2. Knowledge of techniques and methods of quantity food preparation and storage; ability to prepare creative menu plans consistent with federal and state government nutrition guidelines;
3. Knowledge of nutritional values in food preparation; skill to estimate food quantities required for menus; skill to plan the preparation of meals for serving at specified meal times; skill to prepare large quantity meals with a minimum of waste;
4. Knowledge of and ability to train others in safety practices related to food preparation and use of commercial kitchen utensils and equipment;
5. Knowledge of and ability to train others in sanitary methods of food handling, food preparation and cooking techniques;
6. Skill to monitor inventory levels and requisition supplies to ensure adequate supply of food stuffs; skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide; basic skill in using a computer; ability to stand for long periods of time; knowledge of basic record keeping; skill to establish and maintain cooperative
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.
Must be able to complete ServSafe certification
Must be able to successfully pass State, Federal, and Central Registry investigations. Successfully complete other training as may be required or amended by company policy, particularly as it relates to state and federal regulation changes and revisions. Ability to use personal computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications. Maintaining a valid Virginia driver’s license and good driving record. Ability to operate a car or van. Develop organizational and communication skills that foster TEAMWORK.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Virginia drivers license (this is a condition of employment) including personal vehicle insurance coverage.
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND WORK AIDS: General office equipment to include PC. Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications. General home appliances provided in group facility. Vehicle operation.
JOB TYPE: Full -time
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
SALARY: $16 - $18.00 per hour, based on experience.
