Scope:
Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing multiple types of gamma cameras, utilizing proper injection techniques while injecting radioisotopes.
  • Perform IV puncture and administer radiopharmaceuticals via IV when indicated.
  • Lead the work of the associates in the department. Implement directives related to adjusting staffing levels based on service needs and volumes.
  • Act as a resource and provide technical support. Round on patients and staff. Follow up with families/patients.
  • Participate and lead improvement initiatives and implementation of new exam procedures. Teach new and evolving technologies. Coordinate orientation and training of new associates.
  • Ensure staff competency through proper training techniques and conduct quality audits.
    Participate in problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care and service.
  • Support and promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department/unit team and interdepartmentally to facilitate that departments ability to meet its goals and objective.
  • Collaborate with department leadership team to coordinate care with other departments and promote the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
  • Provide education/training and performance feedback for associates in the department.
  • Participate in policy and procedure development.
  • Present and document staff meetings as required.
Requirements:
  • Associate Degree or equivalent from two-year College or Technical School; or a minimum of one (1) year minimum related experience and/or training, required.
  • Current ARRT (R) (NM) or NMTCB as CNMT registry, required.
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical experience, required.
  • Previous EKG and/or Holter monitor experience, required.
  • Current Registered Nurse in the state of practice, preferred.
  • Current ACLS certification, preferred- Previous experience working with students and leadership experience, preferred.
