About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Analytics Consultant to support the Merchant Services organization, with a primary focus of supporting Marketing activities. Reporting to the Director of Merchant Services Analytics & Insights, the Lead Analytics Consultant will be instrumental in growing the Merchant Services business, collaborating extensively with leaders across Merchant Services to deliver data-driven insights and recommendations. The successful candidate will work to synthesize data from disparate sources to answer business questions. The role goes beyond simply serving up data and requires someone who can communicate with stakeholders at all levels to tell a story while also having the technical capabilities to separate the signal from the noise. While this individual may support leaders across the Merchant Services organization, the primary focus of the work will be Marketing analytics.
In this role, you will:

• Provide descriptive and predictive analytics to influence marketing strategies, including channel and offer analysis
• Evaluate the effectiveness of targeted marketing programs including both offline and digital (by campaign, channel, per offer)
• Determine test parameters (campaign volume, responder volume, etc.) and analyze results to calculate lift and continuously optimize offer performance and profitability
• Provide analytics support for multi-channel attribution across Merchant Services marketing campaigns
• Leverage tools, such as Google Analytics and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, to track and optimize digital marketing performance
• Measure performance of marketing investments and campaigns leveraging current reporting and driving the development of new reporting as necessary.
• Perform analysis for financial planning functions, such as business case development and sales trends.
• Perform ad-hoc analytics supporting portfolio offer and product strategies for Merchant Services
• Assist in analytics supporting targeting techniques, identifying and leveraging 3rd party data (e.g. Acxiom, Experian, D&B)
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and more experienced managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
• Ensure adherence to compliance and legal regulations and policies on all projects managed

Required Qualifications, US:

• 5 years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in marketing analytics supporting direct-mail, email or digital marketing including evaluating campaign effectiveness and designing and executing testing
• Experience extracting insights from Google Analytics and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or equivalent marketing analytics tools
• Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience sifting through customer and operational data, identifying themes, extracting insights, and articulating these insights to stakeholders
• Willingness to roll up one's sleeves to thoroughly understand the nuances of each data source and use that information to inform the best approach to an analysis
• Proficiency in statistics and advanced analytics including hypothesis testing, regression analysis and machine learning
• Advanced Excel and data visualization skills
• SQL, SAS, Python or R programming experience
• Experience influencing strategic decisions in key facets of the business such as pricing and product, organizational performance and/or sales and service models.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; effective in communication across a variety of audiences and constituencies and presenting information in a manner that persuades, educates and enhances understanding at all levels
• Proficiency in data storytelling via PowerPoint
• Ability to project manage multiple simultaneous work efforts; strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively across the organization
• Proficiency in influencing peers at all levels of the organization and comfort interacting virtually with team members in different locations
• Experience in the payments processing or credit card industry with a thorough understanding of Merchant Services products and services
• Bachelor's degree in STEM or social sciences field
