The Quality Engineer is responsible for updating, executing, and maintaining a comprehensive quality system for the responsible site(s) within the ONICON Organization. Activities include organizing, planning, commissioning, and maintaining Quality Management System policies and procedures, auditing process controls, inspection, and test requirements to maintain product integrity.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Investigate quality complaints and non-conformances and work with other appropriate department managers and engineers to ensure that corrective measures are applied to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
  • Bring together cross-functional teams to plan, formulate, and agree upon comprehensive quality procedures and test methods.
  • Monitor quality system performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports, including scrap, first pass yield, and rolled throughput yield.
  • Monitor process changes or improvements by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports on warranty returns, warranty repairs, first-pass yield, and scrap.
  • Implement and sustain a Right the First-Time program.
  • Work proactively with the manufacturing team on projects to reduce scrap while also improving net productivity.
  • Develop and maintain the supplier quality program.
  • Develop and deploy statistical analysis tools within the operations unit to ensure improved part integrity and reliability indices.
  • Improve the precision and capability of quality tools and methods throughout the production flow and consolidate and prioritize the capital budget for quality system equipment and software.
  • Facilitate the QC Team meetings, drive non-conformance (internal and external) resolutions, and lead teams in 8-D problem-solving.
  • Direct the internal and external audit systems to ensure the effective continuous improvement of ISO 9001:2018, ISO 17025, and ISO 14001.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Quality Systems in a technical manufacturing or custom-engineered manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of how to do PPAPs (New Product Introductions), Control Plans, and the ability to calibrate measuring devices.
  • Experience with the administration of ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Excel

  • Ability to effectively multi-task in our fast-paced environment.
  • Provide a high level of professionalism and work well with other team members.
  • and experience with ERP software packages
  • Certification ASQ CMQ/OE
  • Ability to grasp complex concepts quickly.
  • Excellent planning, negotiating, and organizing skills.
  • Ability to motivate co-workers, colleagues, and others.
  • Experience with ISO 17025 Laboratory Quality Management System
  • Ability to build well-functioning Quality system
  • Lean-Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
