2nd Shift 4:00pm - 12:30am $22hr - $23hr
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and ensuring the quality of our
products to meet established standards and company requirements. You will play a crucial role in
maintaining product consistency and identifying any defects in our products.
Key Responsibilities:
· Follows general procedures in performing laboratory tasks, inspections of packaged products and materials.
· Performs sensory, physical, analytical, chemical, microbiological tests on finished products, received materials, and any other requested samples.
· Records test data and maintains laboratory workflow following the product evaluation procedure and in TraceGains.
· Reports nonconformance immediately in Microsoft Teams, in-person, or TraceGains.
· Performs and documents daily pre/post-operational and changeover checks to ensure that no materials are placed in production equipment and or produced prior to a preop check.
· Performs and documents required inspection for manufacturing equipment, storage equipment, sanitation cleaning, and any other requested operational related inspections.
· Follows proper GMPs, food safety, lab safety.
· Conducts administrative work relating to QA such as hold process, destruction certification, CoA writing, 3rd party lab sampling, environmental monitoring, SQF and HACCP documentation/filing.
· Assist with other quality and operational projects as needed as directed by the Quality Supervisor.
Work ExperienceMust pass:
Skills and Experience:
· 4-year bachelor’s degree in a science field or related experience.
· Proficient mathematical skills.
· Computer literate and proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
· Strong multi-tasking skills with high level of attention to detail.
· 3 years of experience in the food safety and quality assurance in manufacturing.
· 1 years of experience in an auditing or inspecting against organizational standards role. Auditor Certification preferred.
· GFSI Certification (SQF practitioner or similar).
· HACCP certified and knowledge of running and maintaining program.
· Knowledge of SQF, Food Safety, HACCP, GMPs, FDA, USDA, FSMA regulations and 3rd party certifications.
· Familiar with the New Era of Smarter Food Safety Initiative.
· Energetic, creative, self-directed with high level of integrity.
· Ability to provide partnership, support, communication, and direction to the Operations and Sanitation Teams.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues.
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Able to work flexible hours/rotating hours including second shift when needed.
· Able to work overtime including Saturdays.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills with peers and customers.
