Job Description: The primary responsibilities include: Assist with chart audits as needed by collecting requested medical records, certifying their accuracy and submitting to the insurance companies. Coordinate with auditors as needed for on-site audits. Respond to subpoenas or other requests for medical records while following HIPAA requirements. Scan and upload necessary information into patient charts including patient records to support new consults. Monitor the electronic fax queue, adding documents to patients charts appropriately and communicating pertinent information with key stake holders. Assist with scheduling of tumor boards. Assist the Front Office teams with telephones when needed. Other duties as assigned. Collect patient records needed for referred patients following HIPAA. Represent the practice professionally and appropriately with all referred patients, referring offices and internal stakeholders. Document all patient interactions in the patients’ chart ensuring that it meets billing guidelines and expectations for services. Collaborate with other departments and external care providers to address and resolve issues that impact patient care. Participate on various committees and project groups related to area of focus within the practice. Ideal candidates hold: Minimum of 2 years in Medical Records role Associate's degree preferred but not required Strong working knowledge of HIPAA Proven work experience in a role or environment that emphasized teamwork, strategy and community healthcare.
