Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Quality Control Technician. The quality control technician will ensure that all products meet or exceed USDA and customer specifications and monitor the food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with the company quality policy, while maintaining compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations. Will assist with other projects and duties as needed. This position may also perform case packer job duties on unscheduled QC days.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform Pre-operational sanitation inspections.
• Monitor and record condition of products.
• Verify labeling and packaging meets specifications.
• Verify and record operating parameters of processing equipment in accordance with HACCP and GMP programs.
• Monitor and record sanitation conditions of facility during processing.
• Maintain all logs and records related to Quality and food safety.
• Maintain all test instruments and testing supplies.
• Other duties as assigned by the leadership team.
• Effectively communicate quality and food safety status and requirements to other team members and members of site leadership.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write in English.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to pay high attention to details in work products.
• Demonstrated history of reliability and taking responsibility for quality of work being performed.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in potentially higher pressure environments.
• History of utilizing teamwork skills to achieve desired company results.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Food manufacturing and/or quality control experience is preferred.
• Ability to effectively speak in Spanish is preferred.
