Open Door Family Medical Center is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Tarrytown, NY

A pioneer Federally Qualified Health Center, Open Door provides more than 300,000 patient visits annually and serves nearly 60,000 individual patients who might not otherwise have access. Open Door is currently seeking a hybrid Human Resources Generalist who assists in the daily functions of the Human Resources Department including employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, benefits, leave administration and HR policy implementation. The HR Generalist will serve as a point of contact for employees and management on HR-related matters, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and federal, state and local law. The HR Generalist will report to the Senior HR Manager. This role will be based in Tarrytown, NY and is hybrid following a 90 day orientation period.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs full cycle of recruitment, including managing job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, extending job offers and conducting the pre-employment process
  • Conducts employee onboarding and helps organize training & development initiatives
  • Participates in the new hire orientation program
  • Provides support to applicants, employees and managers on various HR-related topics, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff
  • Acts as liaison for employees and managers relating to a diverse range of HR topics
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary and termination meetings
  • Conducts employee relations investigations with a thorough and well-documented approach
  • Executes routine tasks required to administer human resources programs, including but not limited to: benefits, leave administration, disciplinary matters, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition and morale, occupational health and safety and training and development
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required
  • SHRM-CP a plus
  • At least three (3) years of human resources generalist experience required
  • Full-cycle recruiting experience required
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of FMLA and all applicable federal and NY state leave regulations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
  • Outstanding administrative and organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Works well in a team-based environment
