Description and Responsibilities:

Open Skys Acquired Brain Injury programs serve adults with acquired brain injury and physical disabilities who are referred by the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission. The MRC Womens Program at Fisher Road provides individualized services to 4 adult women in a 24-hour residential program setting. The individuals require staff assistance for most activities of daily living and personal care. Individuals may also have medical needs that require staff to have special training such as MAP and G-TUBE, which is free of cost and provided by Open Sky.

The Residential Counselor supports individuals to live as independently as possible, while providing evidence-based treatment and care, within a group living environment. Counselors assist individuals with daily routines, implement all prescribed medical and medication protocols and assist in developing individualized service plans.

Other Key Responsibilities:

• Assist individuals to access and/or provide transportation.
• Implement all service and behavior plans.
• Facilitate activities that contribute to the development of valued roles and personal relationships in the community.
• Implement all procedures that ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals.
• Assist individuals to access and/or provide transportation.
• Review and complete all required documentation.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Alternative education/experience in lieu of formal education will be considered.
• Valid Drivers License and acceptable driving record.
• Reliability, willingness to learn, and being open to new opportunities.
