Role Purpose
The newly setup Financial System & Integration team will consolidate responsibility for integrating accounting information across OSF into NetSuite, including both OSF offices and OSF systems, including but not limited to grants management, travel, budget and contracting applications. Their work will keep financial systems and financial information flows optimized. The team will be a key player in developing our data strategy to support our goals of data accuracy, transparency and access and will work with other Finance teams, IT and other systems owners.
The Director will be responsible for supporting OSF's efforts towards the implementation of the new OSF grant management platform and the integration of the regional offices financial systems onto a single platform. They will also create the framework for a world-wide integration of accounting data across our systems, that will keep our financial systems updated and functional. They will be working closely with IT and our respective stakeholders and other systems owners
Key Responsibilities
  • Working with the Financial Planning and Analysis Team, the Strategy Unit and with other OSF stakeholders, develop a OSF-wide finance data strategy and data integration framework that will enable financial data flows created in various OSF offices into a single platform
  • Support the implementation of the new OSF grant management platform and the integration of the regional offices financial systems onto a single platform.
  • Support the implementation of the new OSF procurement and contracting management platform and the integration of the regional offices financial systems onto a single platform.
  • Manage complex projects in a challenging environment and provide support to various Finance teams in their change management efforts, ranging from solution creation to strategic oversight
  • Contribute to the collective effort to develop and refine strategic directions for OSF's Financial Reporting processes including involvement in dialogue to refine concepts, development of supporting data and systems, and identifying and resolving potential conflicts, obstacles, internal political concerns
  • As a key Finance liaison for OSF financial systems supporting Regional programs, provide guidance to local finance teams on improving financial processes and resolve ad-hoc finance, accounting and compliance related challenges
  • Manage multiple vendor relationships in partnership with Information Technology, including vendor performance analysis
  • Establish a knowledge management practice to for existing and new integration processes covering the financial systems Open Society Foundations entities are using, creating a framework for continuous improvement and access to information
  • Create and foster a collaborative environment for fresh ideas and innovative thinking to solve issues and to identify gaps in policies and practice
  • As a department management team member, provide leadership, develop others, backing up colleagues & support to Accounting Directors, as needed.
  • Manage a team of two staff with a complex remit and certain timebound projects.
People Responsibilities (Total Team/DRs)

Essential Qualifications : Bachelor's degree ideally with a major in IT or Accounting
Essential Experience :
  • Progressive leadership experience in Finance and MIS (within a multi-national organisation); specifically with depth of experience of financial systems
  • Depth of technical MIS expertise of NetSuite, Concur, Workday (Adaptive/HCM), ideally in that order of priority.
  • Working knowledge of SUN Systems, Fresh Service, PowerBI and Microsoft SharePoint and various Salesforce platforms is an advantage.
  • Experience in managing complex financial systems and integration projects with diverse remits in an international organization and diverse clientele.
  • Proven experience in project management, project risk management and change management; Project management certification (e.g. Certified Associate in Project Management - CAPM - or Project Management Professional - PMP ) is an advantage
  • Proven people leadership experience - either with indirect teams or direct teams
Desirable:
  • Exposure to Grants processing and familiarity with OSF's entity structure preferred.

  • Able to set and reset strategic priorities in an ever-changing ecosystem
  • Manage work and staff efficiently in a fast-paced environment, research financial data, troubleshoot and follow through on projects to completion, possess strong attention to detail, while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and concise reports and compelling presentations.
  • Excellent computer and analytical skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, BI reporting tools and cloud-based platforms and experience with internet research and database management.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and an ability to modulate tone and method depending upon your audience.

T he salary range for this role in the U.S. is $120,900 - $229,700 (USD). The final offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set and level of experience.
