The Role As Senior Project Engineer located in our Sydney office in Macquarie Park, you will perform a key role working within project teams to devise and implement complex solutions to meet the needs of utilities in the energy transmission, distribution and generation business. This position works in a challenging and fast paced environment, and provides opportunity for engineers to expand their technical knowledge in all aspects of the energy utility industry by solving complex, real world issues for our customer base using the tools, processes and training OSI provides. Your Impact Provide mentoring and technical guidance including overseeing activities of less experienced engineers; Evaluate contract specifications and define project requirements. Communicate detailed software enhancement requirements to the internal departments as needed; Design, plan, integrate, test and commission SCADA systems, either in EMS/GMS or ADMS space, while at the same time be able to report technical details to the Project Manager and internal stakeholders; Create project documentation as needed including descriptions of specific customer requirements Work on several projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment; Conduct trainings at Customer site and in OSI premises Build lasting relationships with customers through professional, efficient, pleasant, and helpful communication Develop leadership capacity through a supportive and engaging culture. What You'll Need Australian Citizen or Permanent resident with full working rights, preferably based in Sydney Ability to attend the office in Macquarie Park, Sydney on a flexible basis, and prepared to travel to customer sites across the region when required. 5 years of related experience in utility industry with one or more of SCADA, Energy Management System (EMS), Distribution Management System (DMS), Outage Management System (OMS) or DERMS; Preferably this experience shall come from Australian or New Zealand based utilities, consultancy companies or international vendors; Bachelor's degree either in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field of engineering; Strong technical background in automation and computer control systems and excellent analytical and problem solving skills; Knowledge of electric utilities & power systems operations, communications with field devices (i.e. RTU, IED, etc.), relational databases and operating systems and/or network engineering; Excellent organization, interpersonal, communication, reporting and planning skills. Have a natural curiosity and desire to leverage your expertise to develop other team members and improve work environment. Effectively influence others to assist achieve objectives more efficiently Strong commitment to providing superior customer service. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
